  • Lets draw a picture of an elf!
    You can email it to someone special using ArtBug!


    You will need:
    1. a piece of white paper
    2. pencils - green, brown, blue, pink and yellow.

    Use a brown pencil to draw the face shape for your Elf.
    Don't worry it it's a bit different to mine,
    real elves can have different shaped faces just like people do.

  • Draw a hat for your Elf with a green pencil.
    I made my Elf's hat flop over at the top.

  • Draw a body for your Elf with green like this.

  • Draw sleeves and pants (trousers) on your Elf with green.

  • Draw a neck, hands and ankles for your Elf like this with brown.

  • Draw ears and shoes for your Elf with brown.

  • Draw a belt, buttons and a face for your Elf in brown like this.
    The next stage is shading.
    Hold your pencil more lightly and try shading in the neck of your Elf brown.
    Try to keep the lines going the same way.
    You can ask an adult to show you how if you are not sure.

  • Shade in the Elf's clothes green and the Elf brown.
    The Elf's shoes can be brown too.

  • Shade again places where you think there might be shadows.
    This will make your Elf look more life-like

  • 1. Use brown to give your Elf some eyes and eye lashes.
    2. Use pink for the middle of your Elf's ears (over the brown) ans for the carpet.
    3. Use yellow to draw a bell on the end of your Elf's hat.
    4. Use blue for the wall behind your Elf.
    5. Now scan in your picture and send it to someone special!

    Your picture is now in your own art gallery too!
