  • Lets draw a picture of a submarine!
    You can email it to someone special using ArtBug!


    Select the soap and blue.
    Click on the screen to make it blue.
    Click on the page turn tool to make your page the same way up as mine.

  • Select green, a big square and the felt-pen.
    Draw a rectangle near the left side of the page like I did.
    This is part of your submarine.

  • Choose a medium sized circle and draw the front of the submarine as a curve.
    Being curved makes the submarine more "streamline", ask a grown up what that means!

  • Draw a tail on your submarine like this.

  • Fill in the submarine tail.
    It looks like a fish shape now!

  • Select a square.
    Draw the part of the submarine that sticks out of the top like this.
    This is where the top hatch can be a door sailors use to get into and out of the submarine.

  • Select a small circle and draw the "periscope", this is what submarine sailors look through to see above the water.
    They also have sonar to help them know where everything is under the water.
    Maybe you can find a book about sonar at your library!

  • Click on the moon shape once to make your green a shade darker.
    Draw fins like this to help your submarine not spin and travel a straight path in the water.

  • Fill in the fins with the green paint.
    Select grey paint.
    Draw a rear propellar on the submarine like this, now your submarine can zoom along!.

  • Select the dropper and click on one of the darker green fins.
    Select the felt-pen and the second smallest circle.
    Draw a darker patch on the front of your submarine like I did.
    Click on the moon one more time and draw some edges of the fins darker like this.

  • Draw more darker green patches on your submarine like I did at the front.

  • Select a pale blue for the sky and a medium sized circle.
    Draw a line across the page that goes either side of the submarine's periscope.
    Choose the bucket tool and click above the pale blue line.

  • Choose the wet paint brush and smudge the different shades of green on your submarine.
